Classes, activities, and programs sponsored by the Monroe Arts Alliance are open to the public. Where indicated, events may be specifically for children or for adults.

September 29-30, 2018: Activities at the Autumn Festival

At the Willow Bend Farm, Union WV, Sept. 29-30, the Alliance will be in the Non-Profit tent with 50-50 raffle tickets, and a raffle for a large stuffed rooster. We will also have tables at the flea market area. Come and see something that might be your treasure.

The Alliance will also sponsor a Photo Show at the Festival, held in the barn next to the Garden Club. Categories are Professional, Amateur, Adult, and Youth. Subject themes are People, Pets, Wildlife, Family, Farm, Flowers and Plants, and Landscapes. Submission fees are $5 per picture for adults; $2 per picture for youth. Photographer may matt their submissions or matting is offered by the Alliance at $5 per picture. Calling all photographers to enter the competition. Prizes, ribbons and trophies will be awarded by the judges. Contact Paula Mann at or 304-832-6532 for information.

We are grateful for a grant of $1,425 awarded to the Alliance by the West Virginia Commission for the Arts.

Our annual Youth Art Show was displayed in Peterstown on April 29, and continued on June 2 (Farmer's Day) in Union.
